Spanish railway infrastructure manager ADIF recently awarded Thales a four-year, $61.1 million contract to maintain signaling and train protection systems, as well as technical buildings, for the 110-mile Madrid-Valladolid high-speed rail line.

The contract also includes maintenance for the 15-mile Olmedo-Medina del Campo branch line and high-speed train workshops in Fuencarral.

Thales will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance work on signaling systems, including electronic interlockings, CTC, track circuits and axle counters, train protection systems, power supply systems, auxiliary systems and technical buildings.
