The American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) recently announced that TranSystems’ Frank Miller will serve as the new chairman for Committee 17: High Speed Rail Systems. His three-year term will begin immediately.
Miller has outlined a set of goals he hopes to achieve during his chairmanship: have more authors contributing to the reference manual content, make sure the committee’s nearly 90 members stay active in the group, and develop and maintain recommended practices for high-speed rail design and construction in the United States.
Miller is vice president of passenger rail at TranSystems, where he supports the transportation consulting firm’s architecture, engineering and planning group. He currently is a subcommittee chairman on Committee 11: Commuter and Intercity Rail and previously served as vice chair and secretary for Committee 17.
Miller became involved in AREMA more than 20 years ago and since has contributed reference manual content for Committees 17 and 11.
