USDOT's FY2011 budget earmarks $1 billion for HSR

Yesterday, the Obama Administration unveiled a $79 billion FY2011 budget for the U.S. Department of Transportation that includes $1 billion for high-speed rail.
The budget proposal comes on the heels of last week’s announcement of $8 billion in recovery act funds for 31 states to launch high-speed construction and planning work.
