This week, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) will hold two open houses to review the Southeast High Speed Rail corridor between Petersburg and Richmond, Va.
DPRT officials will discuss the project’s environmental impact statement (EIS) and seek public comments on the Virginia segment. The Virginia DRPT and North Carolina Department of Transportation Rail Division are preparing the EIS.
The high-speed rail line would run between Raleigh, N.C., and Washington, D.C., via Petersburg and Richmond.
