Florida East Coast's Hertwig is high on intermodal

 On March 24, Managing Editor Jeff Stagl interviewed Florida East Coast Railway President and CEO James Hertwig, a former CSX Intermodal president who took the reins of the 351-mile regional in July 2010. Hertwig describes his recently formed management team, summarizes the railroad’s growth strategy — which relies heavily on new intermodal business — and reviews a plan to divert more truck traffic in south Florida, including the restoration of rail service to the Port of Miami by 2012.
