CSXI says 'thank you' to truckers during 'appreciation' week

CSX Intermodal (CSXI) is paying tribute to owner-operators as part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

At many of its 40 terminals, CSXI is providing free meals and gifts — ranging from commemorative caps to sunglasses to tread gauges — for truck drivers. The company also hung "thank you" banners at the facilities. Many of the truckers are independent owner-operators who commit their equipment to serving CSXI's customers.

"The dedication of these men and women is important to the safe, reliable delivery of vital goods," said CSXI President Jim Hertwig in a prepared statement. "Although our appreciation is felt year-round, we are pleased that we have this special opportunity to express our appreciation to our professional truck drivers for a job well done."
