Wabash National Corp. has lined up an international partner for its RoadRailer® intermodal equipment.

The company recently signed a license agreement with Kirloskar Pneumatic Co. Ltd. (KPCL) under which the firm will manufacture and sell RoadRailer products in India. Established in 1958 in Pune, India, KPCL supplies air and air refrigeration compressors, air conditioning units, traction gears and transmission equipment.

RoadRailer is an over-the-road trailer specially designed for railroad intermodal service. The dual-mode trailer features air-ride equipment for highway transportation, a rail brake system and slack-free coupling.

“This agreement will allow Wabash National and KPCL to participate in the rapidly growing Indian market, and enable KPCL to provide India with this innovative technology as the country modernizes its transportation infrastructure,” said Wabash National President and Chief Executive Officer Dick Giromini in a prepared statement.
