The Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) has launched a new website at www.acta.org that's designed to improve the user experience and provide more information about the authority's operations.
ACTA is an intergovernmental agency between the cities of Los Angeles and Long Beach that oversees a dedicated section of railway running from the ports in the two cities to downtown L.A. The 20-mile corridor — which opened in 2002 — is used by BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad to move more than 12,000 20-foot equivalent units daily from the port complex.
The corridor's operations have resulted in the elimination of more than 30 tons of carbon monoxide annually compared to pre-existing conditions, ACTA officials said in a press release.
“When I was appointed CEO [in April 2020], one of my first priorities was making sure that information on ACTA was accessible and understandable for all our stakeholders,” said ACTA Chief Executive Officer Michael Leue. “Visitors to the new site can learn about the impact ACTA is having today, and also find information about our origins and history.”
