The Texas Coastal Bend Railroad (TCBR), Watco's newest short line, today launches service on a 63-mile line inside the Port of Corpus Christi in Texas.
To mark the railroad's launch, Watco unveiled two locomotives — emblazoned with the port’s logo — at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held yesterday. Five locomotives overall will serve multiple port customers, Watco officials said in a press release.
In addition to TCBR, BNSF Railway Co., Union Pacific Railroad, Kansas City Southern and the port’s own rail line, Corpus Christi Rail Terminal, serve the port.
The port moves a large range of commodities, including wind turbine components, agricultural items, refined fuels and military cargo.
