G3 Ltd. yesterday announced its port terminals have received their latest Green Marine certifications and reported above-average performance in 2022.
G3 operates port terminals in North Vancouver, British Columbia; Thunder Bay and Hamilton, Ontario; and Trois-Rivieres and Quebec City, Quebec. Served by Canadian Pacific Kansas City and CN, the terminals handle grain from Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec, and provide Canadian farmers access to worldwide markets via exports.
A leading environmental certification program for North America’s maritime industry, Green Marine is a voluntary initiative that aims to help participants improve their environmental performance beyond regulations.
“We’re pleased to be part of a program that’s building a more sustainable future for the marine industry,” said G3 CEO Don Chapman in a press release. “Together with port authorities and our other partners, we look forward to more success in the future."
Meanwhile, performance results for 2022 show G3’s five port terminals exceeded the industry average pertaining to air, water and soil quality. The company last year also added "community relations" as a performance indicator.
