Pacer Stacktrain recently named Dan Beers executive vice president of sales. He most recently served as EVP of Swift Transportation Co. Inc. and president of Swift Intermodal Inc.

Pacer — which operates a North America double-stack train network — will consolidate various sales activities under Beers, who will be responsible for domestic, Mexican, automotive and ocean carrier markets.

Beers has more than 30 years’ experience in the transportation and intermodal industries. He previously served TFM S.A. de C.V. for nine years in various intermodal, automotive and North American carload sales and management capacities, and Southern Pacific and Burlington Northern railroads for 11 years in various intermodal management positions.

Pacer also promoted VP of Domestic Sales Peter Mettra to EVP for transportation purchasing and marketing, and reassigned EVP Adriene Bailey to head wholesale intermodal products and services. Bailey previously served as EVP of business development and transportation purchasing.

Meanwhile, Swift Transportation promoted Swift Intermodal Vice President Mark Young to EVP to succeed Beers. Young previously held various intermodal management positions with ABF Freight Systems, CSX Intermodal and the Hub Group.
