The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has added the University of Houston and Mississippi State University to the Joanne F. Casey Scholarship Program.
Both schools offer curriculums in logistics and transportation, IANA officials said in a press release.
The additions bring the total number of participating institutions to 15, including a graduate-only program at the Transportation and Supply Chain Institute at the University of Denver.
Since 2007, IANA has provided over $5.9 million in scholarships to support students in freight and intermodal transportation programs. The award provides financial support for tuition, coursework and student research, and student travel to freight and intermodal facilities, case competitions and events.
Last year, IANA renamed its scholarship program after Joanne "Joni" Casey, who retired as IANA president and CEO at the end of 2024. Casey led the association for 27 years.
