CG Railway to lease track from New Orleans port

advertisement

CG Railway Inc. (CGR) recently filed an exemption notice with the Surface Transportation Board to lease and operate several lines at the Port of New Orleans’ north yard and a nearby lead track.

CGR will use the lines, totaling 3.4 track miles, to interchange with CSX Transportation.

An International Shipholding Corp. subsidiary, CGR recently relocated a rail-car cargo facility from the Port of Mobile, Ala., to the Port of New Orleans. CGR — which moves cars via a water-rail service between New Orleans and Coatzacoalcos, Mexico — is using two yards operated by the port and New Orleans Public Belt Railroad.
