BNSF Railway Co. is recognizing truckers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (click here to read how), and so are CSX Intermodal and Norfolk Southern Railway.
CSXI is staging barbecues, presentations and meet-and-greet sessions for truckers across its intermodal network, from Little Ferry, N.J., to Chicago to Orlando, Fla., to Los Angeles.
“It is the professional truck drivers who provide a critical link to the intermodal supply chain by providing the pick-up and/or delivery of freight to destination in a safe, secure and efficient manner,” said CSXI President Jim Hertwig in a prepared statement.
Meanwhile, NS is handing out gifts to truck drivers at 32 terminals systemwide.
