CSX Intermodal recently added two new functions to ShipCSX, an online shipment management tool accessible to registered users.
The Web site now offers billing verification by cell phone and in-gate billing assurance to reduce bill confusion at terminal entrances and ensure accurate shipment processing. Customers can enter an equipment number on ShipCSX.com and view appropriate billing, or access the site via a Web-enabled cell phone or Blackberry device.
On Oct. 1, CSXI no longer will provide billing confirmation by phone. Customers will be required to confirm bills through ShipCSX or by cell phone.
ShipCSX features applications that enable registered users to plan, ship and trace their freight, and pay bills of lading.
