On Feb. 2, CSX Intermodal and asset-management and equipment-reservation system provider REZ-1 plan to begin offering an enhanced trailer and terminal-storage program.
Based on REZ-1's equipment-management platform and CSXI’s business rules, the program will require intermodal marketing companies (rather than draymen) to have principal accountability for equipment per-diem and storage charges. Also, CSXI will require reservations for trailer equipment at all terminals beginning Feb. 2.
Other program enhancements include new online management and reporting tools to enable shippers to view available equipment by terminal and type, access shipment activity, determine trailer dwell times, reserve equipment and schedule a draymen interchange.
