On June 1, CSX Intermodal plans to launch a "Transborder" container service offering all-rail moves between core U.S. locations and Mexico.

Interchanging with Union Pacific Railroad, CSXI will move freight in-bond and clear customs at several interior Mexican points.

Transborder will feature 53-foot STAX containers. Under the STAX program, CSXI and UP offer intermodal shippers 53-foot high-cube containers featuring 110-inch door openings and floors designed to withstand 24,000 pounds.
