The Canadian government will invest CA$50 million to improve infrastructure at the Pointe-Noire terminal in Sept-Iles, Quebec, to support the mining industry.The funds will go toward a project that includes building a conveyor to connect the storage yard to the wharf, which will increase vessel loading speed, Transport Canada officials said in a press release.Among other improvements, the SFP Pointe-Noire, a public-private partnership that aims to develop assets at Pointe-Noire, will upgrade the railway and electrical infrastructure to supply the storage yard, waterproof part of the yard, and build a retention pond and pumping stations.Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway serves the port.
