advertisement
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush recently named Ryder System Inc. Group Director of Environmental and Government Relations Jim Barr to serve a two-year term on a newly created Statewide Intermodal Transportation Advisory Council (SITAC).
SITAC members will recommend allocations to improve statewide freight efficiency and ways state legislators can address rising transportation demands driven by Florida's fast-growing economy and population, and projected increases in freight moves, international trade and tourism.
A member of Florida Trucking Association Inc.'s board, Barr has more than 25 years' experience in highway transportation, including 16 with Ryder and nine with the American Trucking Association. He has held management positions in environmental affairs, real estate, construction, automotive engineering and government relations.
