Today, The Greenbrier Cos. announced it received an order for 1,950 intermodal wells from TTX Co. Scheduled to be delivered next year, the rail cars are subject to final TTX board approval.

Greenbrier also updated its combined North American and European car backlog, which currently stands at 13,000 units valued at $750 million compared with 12,300 units valued at $720 million on Feb. 28. More than 70 percent of the backlog comprises double-stack intermodal wells.

Last month, the company obtained a North American order for 900 center-partition cars and European order for 400 sliding-wall cars.

Greenbrier builds rail cars in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and repairs and refurbishes cars and wheels at 16 North American facilities. The company also builds and refurbishes cars in Europe, owns about 10,000 cars and manages 125,000 cars.
