Rail News: Intermodal
The Port of Corpus Christi recently contracted International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) to conduct a six-month study of the port's La Quinta Trade Gateway container terminal. After the study's complete, the parties might negotiate a long-term lease and concession enabling ICTSI to operate the southern Texas terminal.
"We are pleased to be taking this important first step in developing a world-class container terminal," said ICTSI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Enrique Razon Jr. in a prepared statement. "Our initial assessment is favorable as we will be further studying various critical aspects of commercial feasibility and implementation planning."
ICTSI acquires, develops and operates container ports worldwide, including terminals in the Philippines, Europe and South America.
