Norfolk Southern Corp. recently introduced a new Trailer Management Program (TMP) designed to increase trailer capacity for the fall peak.

The railroad will supply a fleet of NS-controlled 48-foot trailers — which will operate out of Chicago and Toledo, Ohio, terminals — for intermodal marketing company customers.

TMP trailers will be available for outbound traffic from Chicago to Albany, N.Y.; Ayer, Mass.; Baltimore; Bethlehem, Morrisville, Rutherford and Taylor, Pa.; Buffalo, N.Y.; Croxton and Erail, N.J.; and Greensboro, N.C. Trailers also will be available for outbound traffic from Toledo to Ayer and Croxton.

Customers can reserve a TMP trailer from the available pool using NS’ online reservation system.
