Nestlé USA recently chose Schneider National Inc. as one of two primary intermodal service providers. The shipper reduced its roster of providers as part of a North American network consolidation.

Schneider Intermodal will move goods from Nestlé USA's North American manufacturing plants to various distribution centers, including those in Mira Loma, Calif.; DeKalb, Ill.; Breinigsville, Pa.; Forth Worth, Texas; and McDonough, Ga.

"They possess their own containers and trailers, which means they are well-positioned to help us optimize our trailer pools," said Joe Lombardo, group manager of Nestlé USA's transportation logistics, in a prepared statement. "In addition, Schneider's use of technology allows us to haul more freight using less manpower."

Schneider National provides transportation and logistics services, including intermodal, trucking, transportation management, freight brokerage and forwarding, transloading and distribution.
