Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub (SGIH) officials yesterday announced two project milestones that mark the 2,600-acre park's opening: A&R Logistics' new global export headquarters is operational and OmniTRAX Inc.'s rail infrastructure is receiving shipments from CSX and Norfolk Southern Railway.
Located near the Port of Savannah in Georgia, the multimodal industrial park is a development partnership between The Broe Group and the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority. The Broe Group is the parent of OmniTRAX and Broe Real Estate.
"The A&R facility, SGIH's new rail yards and the miles of park rail infrastructure are the latest examples of OmniTRAX's ability to create and deliver full spectrum rail serviced real estate solutions designed to solve customer needs," Scott Brinner, OmniTRAX executive vice president of corporate development and strategic accounts, said in a press release.
The hub is well-positioned to capture the "unprecedented level of industrial demand" in the region, said Reagan Shanley, Broe Real Estate's executive VP.
"To continue to meet this demand, multiple new large-scale projects are currently underway," he said.
