Today, Pacer International Inc. named Kent Prokop president of the company's warehousing and distribution unit.

A 27-year freight logistics and transportation industry veteran, Prokop most recently served as vice president of Pacer Cartage, Pacer International's trucking unit. He previously served as general manager of Interstate Consolidation Inc. — which Pacer International acquired in 1997 — and held various marketing and operating positions at ABF and Roadway Express.

The warehousing and distribution unit provides logistics services to manufacturers and retailers, including cross-dock, storage, drayage and container handling services.

"Kent knows many of our customers and is well qualified to help us
strengthen our southern California freight-handing operations, as well
as expand them to other locations," said Pacer International Vice Chairman Michael Uremovich in a prepared statement.
