Montreal-based Ray-Mont Logistics has begun construction on a new export-focused logistics facility at the Port of Mobile in Alabama. The transloading terminal project will primarily support plastic resin packaging and forest products; Phase 1 of the facility is scheduled to open in fourth-quarter 2026.
The facility will be located on property owned by the Alabama Export Railroad (ALE), approximately 3 miles from the Port of Mobile, and will leverage access to the port’s 50-foot shipping channel as well as APM Terminal's on-dock rail infrastructure and inland intermodal network. The facility will be served by CN and ALE.
“Mobile provides the scale and flexibility required to support export growth while enabling efficient integration between inland production, rail transportation and port operations," Ray-Mont officials said in a press release.
Ray-Mont's operations are projected to add approximately 60,000 of annual export volume through the port once the facility’s first phase is fully operational.
