Schneider National opens Pacific Northwest intermodal field office

Schneider National Inc. recently opened an intermodal field office in Auburn, Wash., to meet the needs of large retail and food shippers and distributors in Washington and Oregon, and expand the trucking firm's intermodal-customer base.

The company named Regional Manager of Intermodal Services Dean Yamada manager of the new office, which is located 30 miles from Seattle.

Schneider National currently operates intermodal field offices in Atlanta; Chicago; Dallas; Cincinnati; Concord and Fullerton, Calif.; Little Falls, N.J.; and Green Bay, Wis.

"The Pacific Northwest is a critical link to continue our growth," said Brian Bowers, Schneider National vice president and general manager of intermodal services, in a prepared statement. "In 2003, Schneider National Intermodal achieved double-digit revenue growth for the fifth-consecutive year and [we] expect to set a new record revenue level in 2004."

Schneider National offers TruckRail® and TruckRail Express™ premium trailer services with Burlington Northern Santa Fe and CSX Transportation, and an OptiModal® expedited container service with Union Pacific Railroad and Norfolk Southern Railway.
