Rail News: Intermodal
The Vancouver, Wash., Port Commission recently contracted David Evans & Associates to provide project management and construction services for “Schedule One” of the $56 million West Vancouver Freight Access Project.
The port previously hired the firm to perform final design engineering for the $13 million to $15 million Schedule One project, which includes building a portion of a rail line. David Evans & Associates’ contract now will total about $2 million.
To be completed in 2010, the freight access project calls building a second rail line from the Port of Vancouver USA to a BNSF Railway Co. yard. The project is designed to relieve congestion on mainlines and improve rail access to port facilities.
