Per a $124 million development plan, a significant portion of the Ardmore Industrial Airpark will become an international, state-of-the-art multimodal logistics facility in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Under a public-private leasing agreement between the property owner Ardmore Development Authority and WP Global Holdings LLC — a partnership between Watco, Knightsbridge Partners and Chickasaw Nation — WP Global will complete a multiphased development of the Global Transportation and Industrial Park (GTIP).
The park will include more than 200 acres of shovel-ready and build-to-suit land with access to rail, truck and air transport, including a connection to a BNSF Railway Co. mainline and close proximity to an airport and five major highways.
The sites are ideal for transloading, warehousing, distribution and manufacturing, project partners said in a news release. As an approved U.S. foreign trade zone, the park can accommodate global commerce.
"The GTIP site uniquely responds to customer needs. We are excited about creating the GTIP as a customizable, centrally located manufacturing and logistics hub that will give current and prospective customers new, virtually unlimited connectivity to regional, national and global markets," said Watco Chief Executive Officer Dan Smith in a press release.
Located on the Chickasaw Reservation — about 90 minutes from Oklahoma City and the Dallas/Fort Worth area — the park is situated between many of North America’s largest business centers.
