The Intermodal Transportation Institute's (ITI) board recently elected Adriene Bailey as chairman for a two-year term. She is vice president of strategic business development for Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc.
Steve Branscum, BNSF Railway Co.'s group vice president-consumer products who has chaired ITI the past four years, was elected senior chair.
Board members include leaders from the intermodal transportation industry, including railroads, ocean carriers, logistics companies, shippers, transit agencies, ports, transit agencies, and trucking and dray carriers. Members provide insight and guidance that helps support ITI's educational, research and outreach programs.
A partnership between academia and the transportation industry, ITI is located at the University of Denver. The institute is the only academic unit offering a graduate degree in intermodal transportation systems management that is carrier focused and includes both freight and passenger perspectives, ITI officials said in a prepared statement.
Over the past 15 years, more than 150 students have graduated from ITI's Masters of Science in Intermodal Transportation Management program.
