On June 24, Kansas City Southern marked the 14th anniversary since it acquired a concession in Mexico to operate a 2,500-mile railroad, which became Transportación Ferroviaria Mexicana S.A. de C.V. Later renamed TFM S.A. de C.V., the railroad now is called Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM).

As a tribute, Mexico’s First Lady Margarita Zavala sent KCS a congratulatory video, which emphasized the key role KCSM plays in the Mexican economy. In addition, she complimented KCS on its positive working relationship with the federal government.

To commemorate the milestone, KCSM President and Executive Representative Jose Zozaya also spoke to employees in Monterrey and Mexico City, acknowledging the “tremendous teamwork” that has helped the railroad overcome challenges and achieve its goals, according to an item posted on the “KCS News” web page.
