Kansas City Southern yesterday announced two new appointments to its business units in energy and short-line relations and intermodal operations.Ginger Adamiak has been named vice president sales and marketing for energy and short-line operations, while Darin Selby has been named vice president intermodal operations. Selby will succeed Morris Godwin, who announced his retirement effective Sept. 1.Adamiak and Selby will report to Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Brian Hancock. Their appointments are effective Sept. 1."Both Ginger and Darin bring a wealth of cross-functional experience and proven performance to their new roles," said Hancock in a press release. "I am confident that they will lead their respective teams well, as we continue to focus on our goal of customer-focused service."Adamiak joined KCS in 2006 as director investor relations. She was promoted to assistant vice president marketing in 2011 and assistant vice president finance in 2015. Prior to joining KCS, she spent nine years with GATX Corp. She also served in financial positions at Household International and Continental Bank.
Selby joined the company in 2001 as assistant trainmaster and has held progressive roles in customer service and sales and marketing. Most recently, he served as vice president sales and marketing for the energy business unit, also overseeing short-line partner relations. Prior to joining KCS, he spent eight years with OmniTRAX Inc.'s Central Kansas Railway.In 2016, Progressive Railroading named Selby one of 20 "Rising Stars" in the railroad industry.
