KCS releases first sustainability report

Kansas City Southern has published its first sustainability report, which covers the Class I's environmental stewardship efforts in 2013.

The report highlights the company’s position and progress on social, environmental and economic topics. It also reinforces the railroad's commitment to service quality and customer satisfaction; the safety of employees and communities; responsible environmental stewardship; positive corporate citizenship through community engagement, charitable giving and volunteerism; providing employees with tools for a fulfilling career and healthy life; and delivering value to shareholders, KCS officials said in a press release.

Year-end information for 2014 will be provided in next year's report. The current sustainability report is available on the railroad's homepage and in the "Investors" section of its website.
