advertisement
Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR) recently deployed a VINtelligent™ system at an automotive facility adjacent to the CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Kansas City, Mo.
The system is designed to track finished vehicles arriving at the facility by both truck and train, and departing the terminal primarily by rail to area automotive dealers. KCSR uses a cellular and wireless version of VINtelligent to provide customers with real-time inventory data and improve intermodal operation efficiency at the facility, according to an item posted on the “KCS News” web page.
Last month, KCSR implemented VINtelligent at an automotive/intermodal facility in Rosenberg, Texas, adjacent to the CenterPoint Intermodal Center-Houston Metro. Kansas City Southern also plans to deploy the system at Kansas City Southern de México S.A de C.V.’s Monterrey and Toluca, Mexico, intermodal facilities.
