On April 21, TFM S.A. de C.V. welcomed Cesar Polack as the railroad's new engineering director. A civil engineer by trade, Polack has 24 years of experience in the construction industry, helping to shape the development of power plants, mining projects and chemical plants in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. During the past six years, he served as project superintendent with Bechtel Group Inc. (U.S.). Before that, he spent 16 years with Mexico's Grupo Bufete Industrial. Polack replaces Jorge Luis Torres Rodriguez, who resigned in February. "He is a very strong addition to our team," says TFM Chief Operating Officer Jorge Licón. "We are very excited about what he can bring to [TFM]."
