The Providence and Worcester Railroad Co. (PWRR) recently reached an eight-year agreement with the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, which represents the railroad’s maintenance of equipment, maintenance-of-way, and communications and signals department workers.

The 545-mile regional now has hammered out eight-year pacts with three rail labor unions. In August 2006, PWRR entered into an agreement with the Transportation Communications International Union, which represents clerical employees; in October 2005, the railroad reached an agreement with the United Transportation Union, which represents train service workers.

Formed in 1973, PWRR operates lines in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.
