BLET seeks applicants for James R. Hoffa scholarships

The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications for scholarships.

To be eligible, applicants must be a son, daughter, or financially dependent grandchild of a Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) member in good standing.

Winners will receive either a $10,000 award split up over four years at $1,250 per semester or a one-time $1,000 award. Those receiving the larger award will have their scholarship renewed each year pursuant to scholarship renewal guidelines.

Recipients are selected by a committee of university admissions and financial aid directors based on academic achievement, SAT/ACT scores, character, potential and financial need, BLET officials said in a press release.
