The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) yesterday announced it reached a tentative agreement with Bombardier Transportation Services (BTS) for member engineers who work for the Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) passenger-rail service.

The agreement covers rates of pay, benefits and work rules for 15 members. The service operates between Martinsburg, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore.

For the purposes of collective bargaining, the BTS/MARC members are represented by the BLET's CSXT-Northern Railroad Lines General Committee of Adjustment.

Ratification ballots are due Feb. 24.
