The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2 and Local 309 yesterday approved a new contract with Bi-State Development Corp., which operates Metro Transit-St. Louis.

The contract is retroactive to July 2022 and expires in June 2026. The contract calls for a 5% wage increase the first year, with 3% increases in each following year. The agreement covers about 60 employees specializing in facilities, signals and traction power.

BSD also is in contract negotiations with Amalgamated Transit Union Local 788, which represents transit operators, mechanics, and clerical and maintenance workers.
