Algoma Central Railway workers ratify CN contract

advertisement

Today, Canadian National Railway Co. announced workers represented by the Algoma Central Association of Railway Unions ratified a five-year agreement.

Retroactive to Feb. 1 and expiring Jan. 31, 2010, the agreement covers 115 operating, clerical, maintenance and mechanical employees at the Algoma Central Railway in north-central Ontario. In 2001, CN acquired the railway as part of the Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp. purchase. The pact increases wages and provides benefits similar to those stipulated in CN’s contracts with other Canadian unions.

CN now has completed negotiations to renew all Canadian labor contracts.
