BLET, Pacific Harbor Line reach tentative contract

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) and Pacific Harbor Line Inc. have reached a tentative agreement on a new labor contract, union officials announced late last week.
Ballots have been mailed to active union members employed by Pacific Harbor and who are eligible to vote, BLET officials said in a press release.
Ballots are due Jan. 13. The tentative agreement covers rates of pay, benefits and work rules for more than 150 members.
Pacific Harbor provides rail transportation, maintenance and dispatching services to the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
