The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) has reached a tentative agreement with the Alabama State Port Authority's Terminal Railway.

The pact governs pay rates and work rules for 20 locomotive engineers at the railroad, which operates 75 miles of track at the Port of Mobile, Ala.

BLET officials are conducting a ratification vote on the tentative contract and have mailed ballots to affected members. Completed ballots are due by Nov. 12.

The Terminal Railway-Alabama State Docks interchanges with CN, CSX Transportation, Norfolk Southern Railway, the Alabama and Gulf Coast Railway and CG Railway Inc. In fiscal-year 2012, the Terminal Railway registered 133,105 revenue-producing moves.
