Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) members who work for Indiana Southern Railroad (ISRR) voted Dec. 5 to ratify a new contract with the short line.
The agreement covers rates of pay, benefits and work rules for 13 BLET locomotive engineers and conductors, BLET officials said in a press release.
The five-year deal calls for general wage increases of 22.5% (24.5% compounded) over the life of the contract. Members also will gain increased off-site meal allowances, an increased boot allowance and parental leave benefits.
A Genesee & Wyoming Inc. subsidiary, ISRR operates 196 miles of track between Indianapolis and Evansville, Indiana, primarily handling coal and agriculture commodities.
