Under the agreement, BLET members will gain up to four paid sick days per year and access to the railroad's 401(k) retirement investment program. Engineers also will be able to"flex"five personal leave days in place of President's Day, Good Friday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, BLET officials said in a press release.
This marks the first time that BLET members at the BRC will have paid sick days and access to the company's 401(k).
The press release did not reveal details on the agreement's length or when it begins.
