Rail News: Labor
Burlington Northern Santa Fe recently reached a tentative agreement with the American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA) that resolves issues raised during the 1999 national bargaining round.
Dispatchers' daily pay rate would increase from $234.95 to $258.85 and health care benefits would be more in line with the national labor agreement, BNSF officials said in a prepared statement.
If ratified by ATDA members — ballots have been mailed and are due within 30 days — the contract would take effect Oct. 1.
