Rail News: Labor
On Friday, Canadian National Railway Co. announced Canadian National Railways Police Association members ratified a two-year contract extension to an existing three-year agreement.
Expiring Dec. 31, 2008, the extended contract will increase wages and improve benefits in the pact’s fourth and fifth years for 75 CN police officers.
The contract’s five-year term is "consistent with recent collective agreement extensions … that provide greater labor relations stability for the company and its unionized employees," CN officials said in a prepared statement.
