On May 14, Canadian National Railway Co. announced it reached a tentative agreement with the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference/Rail Canada Traffic Controllers on a contract affecting 200 train dispatchers. The previous contract expired Dec. 31, 2003.
CN and union officials are withholding details until dispatchers in Montreal, Toronto, and Edmonton, Alberta, ratify the agreement.
CN currently is negotiating with five other Canadian unions — representing about 8,300 workers — whose contracts expire at year end.
