CSX has reached tentative five-year collective bargaining agreements with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers & Helpers and the Transportation Communications Union, the Class I announced Aug. 30.

The tentative agreements are pending ratification by union members. The agreements were reached four months before the current collective agreements become amendable under the federal Railway Labor Act, company officials said in a press release.

In recent weeks, the railroad has announced tentative agreements reached with11 labor unions, covering 15 different work groups, amending 20 collective agreements covering more than 50% of its unionized workforce.

The terms of agreements with the unions align, providing equivalent improvements to wages, health care and paid time off benefits broadly across unions whose members work at CSX.
