Electrical workers' union OKs CN contract

advertisement

Yesterday, Canadian National Railway Co. announced International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) members ratified a four-year agreement. The contract covers 644 Canadian signal maintainers and communications system workers.

Retroactive to Jan. 1, 2004, the pact increases wages and improves benefits.

In late March, IBEW members planned to strike CN. But the Class I reached a tentative agreement with the union a day before the strike was scheduled to begin.
