Former BMWE President Berge dies

advertisement

On Feb. 11, Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes President Emeritus Ole Berge died from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was 83.

Berge served as president of BMWE (now the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the Teamsters Rail Conference) from 1978 — the year the Staggers Act passed — to 1986.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kay. In lieu of flowers, the Berge family requests that contributions be made to local Alzheimer's
associations.
